Explanation of TPA3116D2

The TPA31xxD2 series is an efficient stereo digital amplifier power stage used to drive speakers up to 100W/2 Ω in mono mode. The efficiency of TPA3130D2 is very high, providing 2 × 15W of power on a single-layer PCB without the need for an external heat sink. TPA3118D2 can even provide 2 × 30W/8 Ω power on a double-layer PCB without using an external heat sink. If higher power is required, TPA3116D2 can be chosen, which provides 2 × 50W/4 Ω of power when connected to a small heat sink on its top layer PowerPAD. These three devices have the same size, so a single PCB can meet the needs of different power levels.

The TPA31xxD2 advanced oscillator/PLL circuit adopts a multi switching frequency option to suppress AM interference; When selecting the master-slave option, multiple devices can also be synchronized.

The TPA31xxD34 device has short-circuit protection, thermal protection, as well as overvoltage, undervoltage, and DC protection, which can comprehensively prevent faults from occurring. In case of overload, the device will feedback the fault situation to the processor to avoid damage to itself.
